If you are a service professional chances are you are in business for yourself. That means it is up to you to market and promote yourself for the purpose of growing your business.    It is a generally accepted belief that most new businesses (over 80%) will fail within the first five years. There are a number of excuses, but only one valid reason. That reason is:

 

A Lack of Customers.

 

Gaining new clients is difficult because you have to go out and find them. New clients, for the most part, will not come looking for you unless you give them a reason.  Remember this, "Your business is very much like your lawn. It is either growing, or it is dying. There is no inbetween. For that reason you must never lose sight of the importance of new business development.
